These are my personal notes about this product:
If you’ve watched my YouTube fermenting recipe videos, then you’ve probably seen me use this digital PH meter. Although a PH meter is not required when fermenting, it sure is great tool to confirm a fermentation is on the right track & safe to eat!
After using the ‘basic’ meter, I switched to this one and never looked back. I absolutely love this meter for the following reasons:
- Can take a PH sample in very shallow brine (‘basic’ meter cannot)
- Can wedge deep into a ferment to take a PH sample. This is especially useful with brine-less or low-brine ferments (‘basic’ meter cannot)
- Holds its calibration for a very long time (‘basic’ meter does not)
- PH readings are more accurate (improved accuracy from the ‘basic’ meter)
- Can take PH samples of non-liquid foods such as bread dough (‘basic’ meter cannot)
I used to recommend the ‘basic’ meter because it was quite inexpensive. However, due to the improved features of this PH meter as noted above, this is the PH meter I now recommend.
